In KolHive the assistant uses the same desktop you do: it opens your files, edits the document you have open, cuts the video on your timeline and puts the recording where it belongs. You decide what it may touch, and it asks before anything that changes your work.

Why a chat window is not enough

Start from the desktop
Open the assistant beside the files and apps the task is about.
Say what you want done
Describe the result: "shorten this report to one page", "cut the silences".
Approve the changes
It shows what it is about to change; anything that edits your work waits for your yes.
Keep the result
The edit stays in the document, the cut on the timeline, the file in its folder.
Questions and answers
How is this different from a chatbot?
A chatbot answers in a conversation. The KolHive assistant works inside a desktop with your files and apps, under permissions, and its results stay in those apps instead of in a chat transcript.
Can it act without asking me?
By default it asks before anything that changes your files, your apps or anything sensitive. You can let routine steps run on their own, but deleting, spending money, sharing and sending messages always ask first.
Does it read all my files?
No. It works with the material you give it access to, and every app keeps its own storage.
Which AI model powers it?
Use our cloud models, connect your own AI service, or run a model on your own computer.
Can I use it today?
Not yet. KolHive is in closed testing; the web demo shows the desktop and its apps with the AI switched off.
