A real desktop

An AI operating system puts the AI inside the place where your work already happens, instead of in a chat box beside it. KolHive is an AI OS: a desktop of your own with thirteen apps already installed, your files, and one AI that can use all of them. It opens your files, edits the document on screen, drives the video timeline and builds an app when none fits, on Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad, Android and the browser, with the AI you choose.
Windows, a dock, a start menu, search across everything you own, and undo for your files.
KolWrite, KolDoc, Files, Video Editor, Calendar, Quick Notes, Browser, KOL Store and more, already installed.
Use our cloud models, connect your own AI service, or run a model on your own computer.
The same desktop, apps and data on computer, phone, tablet and browser.
Most AI lives in a chat box. You ask, it answers, and you copy the result somewhere else by hand. An AI OS removes that step: the AI and the work share one place.
The assistant uses the files, documents and app data you give it, so you stop pasting the same background into every conversation.
An edit lands in the document, a cut on the timeline, a transcript in the folder, not in a chat you have to search later.
The Hive Kernel is one AI runtime shared by every app, with typed tools, permission checks and a record of every action it takes.
When no installed app fits, the assistant builds one and installs it beside the others, with its own storage and versions.
KolHive is one system, not a set of separate apps that drift apart.
Compiled natively for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, plus a web build that opens in the browser.
Each device keeps its own copy of the workspace and syncs the changes, so the desktop opens from the device instead of waiting on a server.
Apps are standard web code (HTML, JavaScript, WebGL) in an isolated frame, with a declared list of what they may use.
Apps and the assistant ask before they reach a file, a tool or an action, and you can change those permissions at any time.
KolHive is designed for compatible AI apps to work with your files and apps on your computer, with access you choose.

Before an app connects, KolHive names the AI company that receives what it reads and waits for your OK. By default the app reads, edits and builds without asking, and asks you every time before it deletes, shares or spends your credits. Full control, with no questions, is your choice per app.
What each app did is listed in Settings, and you can switch an app off or remove it at any time. The connection runs on your own computer; what the app reads goes to its own AI company.
The web demo replays an AI app at work: it writes a document, tidies files and recaps a meeting on the sample desktop. It is a script: no model runs and nothing leaves your browser.
On the computer, the phone or in a browser: the same windows, apps and files.
"Cut the pauses from this interview and add captions", or "turn these meeting notes into a client update".
The assistant works in the real apps and reads back the result, so you can check it before you keep it.
Pick the same work up on another device, or share one app or space with the people who need it.
An operating system in which the AI is part of the system rather than a separate chat app: it can use the apps and files on the desktop for you, under permissions you control. KolHive is an AI OS in this sense.
No. KolHive runs as an app on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android or in a browser, and gives you its own desktop, apps and AI inside it. Your device's operating system stays the security boundary.

Building an app is one thing it can do when no installed app fits the job. The product is the desktop, its apps and an AI that runs your work in them.
KolHive is in closed testing. You can explore the desktop in the web demo at demo.kolhive.com, and join the launch list to hear when access opens.
In the KolHive desktop app on your computer, AI apps that support MCP over HTTP are designed to connect. You approve each app once, after KolHive names the AI company that receives what it reads; by default it asks before deleting, sharing or spending, or you give it full control. KolHive is in closed testing, so this arrives with access. Browser-based AI apps, the web app, phones and messages are not available. The demo at demo.kolhive.com shows a scripted example.
