Files are only part of the work
A document is often the evidence. The ongoing work is the status, decisions, notes, and records built around it. KolHive keeps those layers together without treating them as one unrestricted pool.
Workspace files
Store documents, recordings, images, and exports where they can be found and used again.
App-owned data
Each app keeps the records it creates, so its working state is not buried in a chat or stranded on one device.
Explicit access
An app receives access to the files and tools it needs instead of silently seeing everything.
Shared spaces
Share the relevant file or app while the rest of a personal workspace remains private.
Continuity without rebuilding context
The value of sync is not merely seeing the same file twice. It is being able to continue the same process without reconstructing what happened.
Capture where the work begins
Bring in voice, documents, or notes from the device that is available at the moment.
Continue where the work is easiest
Move to a larger screen without emailing files to yourself or recreating the app's state.
Keep history connected
The app, its records, and the files behind them remain part of the same workspace context.
Choose the right boundary
Use cloud sync when it helps and local or private options when the information requires tighter control.
How work moves through the workspace
Add the source material
Bring the relevant files or recordings into the workspace.
Authorize the app
Grant access only to the material needed for this workflow.
Work from another screen
Open the same workspace and continue with its connected state.
Share the right layer
Share a file, an app, or a space according to what collaborators actually need.
Questions about files, app data, and sync
What syncs between devices?
KolHive is designed to keep workspace files, apps, and the state those apps own available across supported surfaces.
Can every app read every file?
No. Apps operate with their own state and require explicit permission to reach other workspace material.
Can sensitive work stay local?
KolHive's public product positioning includes local and private boundaries so organizations can choose the deployment path appropriate to the work.
Which version can I use today?
KolHive is currently in private testing. Public web, desktop, and mobile access is coming soon.
